Mr eastwood I recently found a Official Manchester United All-Time Greats Signatures shirt journal hand written by my paw paw my grandfather where he gives an account to the best of his memory from before the beach landing in sicily italy that began july 10 1943 to the end of world war ll it documents facts some facts such as the number of prisoners taken and from where by his battalion and others I was wondering if you might be interested in reading it then possibly making it into a film the story is his hand written account of his war story from start to the official end of the war in 1945 my aunt said you are really interested in wwll stories it’s an autobiography it’s 16 pages long it even details the type of clothing they were issued before leaving the states saying by the way before we left the states we were issued woolen clothes shirts and trousers the only cotton we had were summer under shirts and boxer shorts this was the last time any of us wore a cotton shirt till we got back in the u s wool when you sweat keeps you cool and in the desert at night it keeps you warm it does not shrink when washed and when you get wet in winter you don’t feel near as cold as wearing cotton he said this also by the way the 36th division was already in africa when we arrived don’t know why we were picked to head the invasion unless we were better prepared quote unquote so his division headed the beach invasion of sicily italy july 10th 1943 but he arrived from the states first to africa I don’t care about the money I would just like to see his story told by either book or film I also have photos and letters that he meticulously kept from his service if you are interested in hearing more you may contact me here on facebook or personally at 4095483323 I would not normally give my number out so publicly but in an instance such as this I am prepared to do as my paw paw taught me get it done or die trying thank you so much for your time I hope this message finds you sincerely andrea bertrand.
